1. மாட்சியின் கர்த்தர் தொங்கி மாண்ட
அற்புத சிலுவை காண்கையில்
மண்ணுலக மேன்மை மண்ணே
ஆணவம், ஆங்காரம் வீணே.

2. என் மீட்பர் சிலுவையல்லால்
வேறொன்றில் மேன்மை பாராட்டேன்;
மாயையான சிற்றின்பம
இயேசுவின் இரத்தத்தில் சங்கரிப்பேன்.

3. கை, தலை, காலிலும் இதோ,
பேரன்பும், துன்பும் கலந்தே,
பாய்ந்தோடும் காட்சிபோல் உண்டோ?
முட்கள் மகுடம் ஆனதோ?

4. சராசரங்கள் அனைத்தும்
அவ்வன்புக்கு எம்மாத்திரம்?
என் ஜீவன், சுகம், செல்வமும்
என் நேசருக்குப் பாத்தியம்.

2.Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ, my God;
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to his blood.

Sorrow and love flow mingled down.
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown.
4.Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were an offering far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.
